Club Offerings

School Newspaper - Eagle Press

The Eagle Press is a great club for aspiring writers, photographers and graphic designers! Managed by students in Grades 5-8, this St. John School newspaper club provides students with the opportunity to learn about publishing a digital newspaper.

Students meet weekly to develop ideas for the paper, assign different feature roles, write the articles, photograph events, and interview people for the news. Students also work on the digital layout of the newspaper and input articles and visuals. They learn each step from idea through publication—gaining great skills in the art of journalism. Younger students are invited to contribute artwork and writing to the newspaper.

First LEGO League, Junior

Available for students in Grades 2 & 3, First LEGO League, Jr. Club meets after school to explore and discover real-world math and science.

Students get the chance to design and build a challenge-related model using LEGO components, and they learn the value of working cooperatively with others as a team. Get inspired to be science and technology leaders, build confidence, and have fun!
