WELCOME TO FIRST GRADE

Don't cry because summer went by. There will be friends to meet and snacks to eat! Books to read, so you can grow like a weed !! You will soon have a grin, when you see there are prizes to win !!!    Miss Torrence

     The first day of school was exciting and happy in grade one! The students will receive a "Welcome Bag" on Tuesday, August 31st. There will be approximately five(5) items in each bag. The contents of the bag are to be opened and kept at home. The class was instructed to guess what the bag contained. The element of surprise, logical thinking, similarities/differences, comparisons and inferential thinking will be a topic of discussion on Wed. Sept. 1st.

    The outcome of the welcome bag is two fold: It is a gift for each child. Secondly, the children will be able to see that not all lessons are within their textbooks. There are learning experiences everywhere. It is going to be an AWESOME year!  Sally Torrence
