Book Club

     St. John the Evangelist School has a wonderful after school extra curricular book club administered by Ms. Caitlin Garrity.  Ms. Garrity is St. John the Evangelist School's 5th grade teacher and alumni of our school.  Once a week, the book club gathers together in a time of fellowship and fun, all in the spirit of learning.  The book club is a great way to engage the students while developing their critical thinking skills and keeping them interested in reading.  Ms. Garrity started the book club when she began to notice the students in her fifth grade class seemed uninterested in reading books for entertainment! 

     The book club's atmosphere is creative and relaxed, a time when the student's imagination, thoughts about the book plots, themes and characters are able to soar!  Ms. Garrity selects age-approiate book and encourages an interactive environment between the students.  The book club has become a very popular extra curricular activity among many St. John the Evangelist School students.
