As a High School Preparatory school, St. John the Evangelist School graduates apply and are accepted to many of the Catholic and independent schools in the area. Over the past 10 years, 60% of our graduates have attended Holy Cross High School and Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury. 30% of our graduates have attended and graduated from area independent schools, such as The Taft School, The Gunnery, Chase Collegiate School, Westover School and The Hotchkiss School. The remaining 10% have been accepted into honors programs at the local public high school and at the regional technical schools.

Four seniors recieved Gold Key Awards for their photography portfolios. We are proud to announce Miss Catherine Caroe, St. John the Evangelist School alumna to be amoung those recognized.
Each year when I visit St. John the Evangelist School to speak with the 8th grade class regarding the Admission process at Canterbury School, I am impressed by the students. They are polite, articulate and genuinely engaged in the presentation. My brief interaction with St. John the Evangelist School students shows me that they have been well prepared for the transition to high school.

Letter From an Alumni Parent: At a recent meeting, I was able to personally thank Principal John Petto for the great preparation and education our son Emilio has received at St. John the Evangelist School. Emilio began freshman year at St. Paul's Catholic High School in September, 2011. One of the reasons we choice St. Paul's was because of the many similarities this school shared with St. John the Evangelist School. Both schools are small in size but gigantic in what they have to offer. The transition from St. John the Evangelist School to high school was amazingly smooth and we are pleased to share with you the gratitude we feel towards St. John the Evangelist School. Thanks to St. John the Evangelist School's strong and challenging curriculum, including the teachers, office staff and principal, Emilio has been well prepared for high school, in particular, was immediately complimented for how organized he is with writing all his assignments, including the due dates, and note taking in his assignment book. In addition, one of Emilio's favorite classes is Religion and St. John the Evangelist School has an excellent religion class program. St. John the Evangelist School prepares students both academically and spiritually. May God continue to bless the students and faculty at St. John the Evangelist School.
